First talk this morning was a very informative session on doss houses by John Bennett. He covered their history, regulations (and how they were ignored) the main owners and the links to the ripper case. A very good start to the day.
Next up was a talk on Severin Klosowski (George Chapman). Gareth covered his early life, training as a feldcher and the attempts to track down his earliest known London address. Despite Gareths claims it would be a dry and serious talk, it was laced with his usual wit and jokes, making what could have been a dry subject matter both entertaining and informative.
