Mike’s talk was a brief guide to the Rippers links to Hull. Very informative info on Deeming and Stephenson (including some brand new info), but I’m sure he won’t mind me saying that he could have cut out the info on Queen Victoria and Lewis Caroll. Saw a sneak peek of his soon to come book last night, and I think it should come free with a forklift truck due to the size of it.
Trevors talk on Frances Coles provided some much needed more info on the life and background of this possible Ripper victim, and he is an engaging and amusing speaker (despite the technical hitches).
I’ve just bought a copy of Punch containing “Blind mans buff” and now having a pint with Paul Begg, Robert Anderson and Robert Smith. More later!
